Rules & Regulations of the Bangalore Neurological Society

Name & Registered Office

The Society shall be called the "Bangalore Neurological Society" (BNS). The registered office of the Society shall be in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

Aims & Objectives

Promote and advance knowledge in the neurological sciences among members

Organise CME programmes, symposia, workshops, and conferences

Foster collaboration among neurologists, neurosurgeons, and neuroscientists

Guard the professional interests and honour of members

Promote unity and fellowship among members of the neurological community

Take measures to promote neuroscience research and publication

Manage and administer the funds of the Society

Affiliate with national and international neurological organisations

Maintain a non-profit status for the promotion of neuroscience

Membership Categories

Full Membership

Open to registered medical practitioners with postgraduate qualifications in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuropathology, Neurophysiology, Neuroradiology, or allied neurosciences practicing in Bangalore.

Life Membership

Full members may convert to Life membership upon payment of the prescribed fee. Life members enjoy all privileges of Full membership in perpetuity.

Annual Membership

For qualified practitioners on a year-to-year basis, subject to annual subscription payment.

Associate Membership

For residents, fellows, and allied health professionals in neuroscience, with limited voting rights.

Subscription Fees

Admission Fee ₹ 50
Annual Membership ₹ 50 per year
Life Membership ₹ 500 (one-time)
Associate Membership As determined by EC

Fees are subject to revision by the Executive Committee as deemed necessary.

Rights & Privileges of Members

  • Attend all meetings and academic programmes of the Society
  • Vote at General Body meetings (Full and Life members)
  • Stand for election to the Executive Committee (Full and Life members)
  • Receive newsletters, announcements, and publications of the Society
  • Participate in CME programmes at member rates

Executive Committee

The Society shall be governed by an Executive Committee comprising elected office bearers and members.

Meetings

Monthly Meetings

Held on the first Saturday of every month for clinical case presentations and academic discussions.

Annual General Body Meeting

Once a year to elect office bearers and review the activities and accounts of the Society.

Executive Committee Meetings

As required, at least quarterly, to manage the affairs of the Society.

Amendments

Amendments to this Constitution may be made at a General Body meeting provided that notice of the proposed amendment has been given to members at least 30 days in advance, and the amendment is passed by a two-thirds majority of members present and voting.
